I’m Liliya Varon, an art lecturer with a background in English Literature, many years of teaching experience, and a deep love for reading paintings as living stories.

For me, a painting is never just a beautiful image. It is a world of hidden symbols, gestures, emotions, cultural codes, and small details waiting to be discovered. But as modern viewers, we often stand at a distance: many years, different habits, and a lost cultural language separate us from the world in which the painting was created.

In my lectures, I invite you to go beyond the surface — beyond color and technique — and step into the story behind the canvas.

I see paintings as part theatre, part literature, part time travel. My talks are created for curious art lovers who want to look more deeply, understand more fully, and enjoy the pleasure of discovering how much a painting can reveal when we truly learn how to see it.
